La storia di questo piatto

Born where the silk roads of Asia dissolve into the sun-warmed hills of Italy, this is a whispered dialogue between two worlds — the tender silence of Japanese mochi and the dark, voluptuous soul of Italian cioccolato. It belongs to no single map, yet it carries the memory of both: a border that tastes like belonging.

Ingredienti

  • 100 g Glutinous rice flour (mochiko)
  • 30 g Sugar
  • 120 ml Water
  • 40 g Chocolate chips
  • 30 g Cornstarch (for dusting)

Preparazione

  1. Whisk together the glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water until you achieve a smooth and uniform batter.
  2. Cook the batter in the microwave for about 2 minutes at medium power, stirring halfway through, until it becomes translucent and elastic. Alternatively, cook over a double boiler for 6-7 minutes.
  3. Let the batter cool slightly, then gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  4. Dust your work surface with cornstarch, spread out the dough, and shape into balls or discs weighing roughly 30-40 grams each.
  5. Arrange the fake mochi on serving plates and enjoy at room temperature or chilled from the refrigerator.
