Ingredienti
- 150 g Ripe banana
- 100 g Fresh strawberries
- 125 ml Plain yogurt
- 100 ml Skim milk
- 10 g Honey
- 5 g Ground flaxseeds
- 50 g Ice
Preparazione
- Rinse the banana thoroughly under cold running water and peel, removing the skin completely. Slice crosswise into coins approximately 1 cm thick. Rinse the fresh strawberries under ice-cold water, remove the hulls and sepals with a paring knife, then quarter each berry, keeping the pieces uniform in size—this ensures even juice extraction during blending and a balanced texture in the finished smoothie.
- Pour 200 ml of room-temperature plain yogurt (whole or low-fat) into a blender or immersion blender pitcher, followed by 150 ml of cold skim milk from the refrigerator. This liquid base will create the emulsifying matrix needed to incorporate air and achieve a creamy texture after blending.
- Add to the mixture 80 g of sliced banana, 120 g of quartered strawberries, 15 ml of acacia honey (preferably at room temperature for even distribution), and 10 g of freshly ground or whole flaxseeds. Gently fold with a spoon to distribute the solids evenly through the liquid base, preventing accumulation of ingredients during the subsequent blending.
- Add 150 g of ice cubes (or medium-grain crushed ice) to the mixture and begin blending at medium-high speed, gradually increasing power. Blend for 3-4 minutes total, alternating between 30-second pulses and 10-second pauses, until the mixture reaches a smooth, uniform consistency—the finished result should be silky without visible fruit particles or perceptible ice crystals. Check that the temperature remains cold to the touch and that the blender's sound becomes deeper and more even, indicating greater density of the mixture.
- Pour the completed smoothie into a 300-350 ml tumbler or cocktail glass, maintaining a steady stream to preserve the aeration achieved during blending. Serve immediately at the table, before the internal temperature rises and melting ice dilutes the consistency and aromatic intensity.
